Higher earners to lose child benefit?

Child benefit could soon be removed from higher paid families in the Island.

Chief Minister Allan Bell has hinted the government may modify the scheme to make it fairer.

From next year in the United Kingdom, if one parent earns more than around ?44,000 a year, neither they nor their partner will be able to claim the benefit.

On Manx Radio's Sunday Opinion, Mr Bell said first and foremost, resources had to be targeted to those in need:
