Cash thefts in Onchan: two arrested

A man and a woman suspected of using distraction techniques to steal money from local businesses have been arrested.

It's been confirmed two people are being questioned at Police Headquarters in Douglas.

According to police, the pair approached staff in a number of pubs and shops in Onchan last night (Thursday), and asked them to exchange cash into different denominations.

Police say they were smiley and chatty and confused the business owners during the transactions, making off with around ?120.
