Manx Gas says it can't reduce its prices in the wake of major energy suppliers in the United Kingdom announcing cuts to their tariffs.
Director and engineering manager Robert Gardner says natural gas went up 2.3 per cent and LPG eight per cent in August last year, while in the UK prices rose by an average of 15 per cent.
He says his company managed to minimise price hikes thanks to forward purchasing gas earlier in the year.
At this point, Manx Gas isn't in a position to cut prices for customers, but will continue to offer the best value it can.
