FA Cup first for St John's United

The first Manx FA Cup game ever to be played on a grass pitch under floodlights is the highlight of the local football programme this afternoon (Saturday).

St John's have invested in the lights, which will be used for the preliminary round tie against second division Foxdale, with kick-off at 3pm.

The top game of the day is at Glen Road, Laxey where the home side will entertain fellow Premier League heavyweights Rushen.

The other ties which are still going ahead are Castletown v Ramsey Youth Centre, Corinthians v Michael, Old Boys v Colby, Douglas Royal v Douglas and District, Marown v Union Mills, and St George's v Malew.

Ties postponed before Saturday: Police v Onchan, Pulrose v Gymns.
