Conor Cummins to sign for top Suzuki team?

by isleofman.com 6th January 2012

TT podium man Conor Cummins could join TAS Suzuki for the 2012 season.

The motorcycle media is reporting the Ramsey man may have been offered the chance to ride for the squad which will be known as Tyco Suzuki for the 2012 season and was previously called Relentless by TAS Suzuki.

It is also widely believed fan favourite Guy Martin could ride for the team for a second year after a successful 2011.

Conor, who has had road racing success previously with the McAdoo Kawasaki team, is one of the fastest men ever round the Mountain Course.

Motorsports news website Crash.net states: "He has been strongly linked to Tyco Suzuki and a move to the team would be a significant marketing coup for the organisers of the TT, who would get plenty of mileage out of the home-grown hero's switch to one of the sport's most high-profile teams.

"It is also understood that two-time TT winner Michael Dunlop is also not completely ruled out of the Tyco Suzuki equation."

Conor suffered a big crash in the Senior TT in 2010 and battled back from serious injury to compete in last year's event.
