by isleofman.com 5th January 2012

A NUMBER of homes in the south of the Island are without power after high winds caused an 11kv electricity line to come down.

175 properties in the Ballabeg, Ronague, Grenaby, Colby and St Marks areas have been without power this morning.

Engineers have managed to restore power to more than 100 properties but 54 will remain off until the line can be reinstated.

This is expected to happen within the next two hours.

The Manx Electricity Authority has apologised to customers for the inconvenience. Anyone with a problem can call 01624 687687.
