Packet too vulnerable at the moment, says Travelwatch

There needs to be a review of the Steam Packet's contingency plans, regardless of whether or not it's brought into public ownership.

That's according to Dick Clague of Travelwatch.

The Liberal Vannin Party has called for the Manx government to buy the Packet, should the opportunity arise, so it can be run with the Island's best interests at heart.

Mr Clague says the main problem currently is the size of the Packet's fleet:
