A member of the House of Keys has suggested the lieutenant governor, a former diplomat, could prove very useful in helping the Isle of Man evolve constitutionally.
Delivering the oration in English at the annual Illiam Dhone ceremony yesterday (Monday), Laurence Skelly (Rushen) said the Island 'should take full advantage' of any offers from Adam Wood in that direction.
Mr Skelly also critcised the image of the occasion as a nationalist gathering:
