'Put Packet in Manx ownership', says LVP

The Liberal Vannin Party wants to see the Steam Packet owned by Manx residents as soon as possible.

It's written to Chief Minister Allan Bell suggesting a contingency plan should be 'ready to go' in the event of the company being put up for sale 'at a reasonable price'.

The party is also claiming the present User Agreement with government is 'a total mess', describing it as 'fiscal madness'.

Party leader Peter Karran is concerned about the burden of debt the present owners have to service, and believes an alternative ownership structure is needed:
