Baby Isabella is first arrival of 2012

The first baby born in the Isle of Man in 2012 arrived within the first hour of the new year at Noble's Hospital.

Isabella Elsie Rice was safely delivered at the Jane Crookall maternity unit at 12.40am, to parents Daniel and Nicole from Saddlestone in Douglas.

The little girl weighed in at a healthy 6lb, 4oz.

The hospital says Isabella was the only baby born in the early part of January 1, the next arrival being at 10.30am.
