Geordies' grand slam bid still alive

A late winner in extra-time saw St George's lift the Railway Cup at the Bowl on Boxing Day.

Frank Jones scored after being set up by Chris Bass to break the hearts of a battling St Mary's and win the match 1-0.

The game was a largely disappointing affair, held in windy conditions.

St George's manager Chris Bass senior was a relieved man at the final whistle:
