Skandia staff's donation to celebrate "Oscars"

by isleofman.com 29th December 2011

STAFF from Onchan life assurer Royal Skandia were treated by the company to their annual Oscars Awards Ceremony at the Villa Marina.

The event is held to reward and recognise the company’s employees and to raise money for their Charity of the Year which is currently the Manx Stroke Foundation. A total of £2,500 was raised by staff through a Grand Raffle – prizes for which were donated by the company and generously supported by local businesses.

Mark Halewood, Royal Skandia’s general manager, said, “This is our fourth annual Oscars Award Ceremony which is a great opportunity for us to reward all our staff by giving them a night to remember, but also the chance to raise money for a very worthy local charity.

“Our staff between them have now raised almost £6,000 over the year for the charity, which is fantastic – I’m very proud of them.”
