Vandals spray paint at Hango Hill

by isleofman.com 28th December 2011

POLICE are searching for vandals who sprayed paint on the monument at Hango Hill in Castletown on Christmas Eve.

The police have confirmed that incidents of criminal damage were discovered on Christmas Eve in the form of daubed phallic symbols in blue paint on the Hango Hill monument, on the roadway nearby and in the grounds of King William’s College.

Sergeant Paul Kemp of Southern Neighbourhood Policing Team said, “Various lines of enquiry are being followed at this time and we are keeping an open mind in relation to suspects.

“At this time, though, there is nothing to indicate anything other than these being opportunistic crimes. We would welcome any information that could assist us with finding the culprits.

“In particular we would like to hear from anyone who has seen any person with blue paint on their hands and clothing, or anyone who may have found that they are missing blue spray paint”.

Anyone with information should contact Constable Mark Langley, who is in charge of the investigation, or Castletown Police Station on 822222.
