A new scheme to help birds has been launched in the Isle of Man.
'Manx Bird Aid' is a joint initiative between local charity Manx Bird Life, the Department of the Environment, Food and Agriculture, the Ornithology Society and the Manx National Farmers' Union.
It is targeting farmland seed eating birds such as yellowhammer, reed buntings, tree and house sparrows and linnets, whose numbers have fallen dramatically in recent years.
Claire Barnet from Manx Birdlife says the scheme is addressing the problem head on with a distribution of food out on the ground.
She says it isn't the most sustainable form of conservation, but action was needed quickly, because numbers of some species are so low:
