by isleofman.com 22nd December 2011

Police in Finland are investigating after a Manx-registered ship was reportedly found to be carrying missiles and explosives to China.

The cargo ship Thor Liberty stopped in Kotka in the south of the country and was searched by the authorities there.

On board, they are said to have found 69 patriot missiles and 150 tonnes of an explosive compound called nitroguanidine.

Finland's National Bureau of Investigation says the vessel was en route from Germany to China and stopped to load cables.
