Government minister learns 'a hard lesson'

Home Affairs Minister Juan Watterson is apologising for what he calls 'a lapse of judgement' last Friday night.

In a statement, Mr Watterson says he is sorry for being drunk and vomiting on a bus, adding he is mortified by his behaviour.

He says he has paid the Department of Community, Culture and Leisure for the cleaning work, and apologised to the driver of the bus and the department's chief executive officer.

He has also apologised to Leisure Minister Tim Crookall and Chief Minister Allan Bell.

In his statement, he says: 'I am a young man who has learned a hard lesson'.

He told Manx Radio it had been a humbling experience:
