Marks and Spencer has decided against bringing Christmas supplies to the Isle of Man in a Hercules transport plane.
Earlier today (Wednesday), it was confirmed the company was considering making two trips with a former RAF aircraft, to make sure the shelves at its Douglas store were full in the run-up to Christmas.
However, in the past few minutes (3.15pm), a senior official at Ronaldsway Airport told Manx Radio the trips wouldn't be happening, after a decision was taken to bring all the items over by sea, which is the usual method.
The flights had been expected to land at 8pm today and 8am tomorrow, and had caused some excitement among plane enthusiasts.
