A Christmas message from the Island's Education and Children Minister

by isleofman.com 25th December 2011

A CHRISTMAS message for isleofman.com readers from the Island's Education and Children Minister Peter Karran MHK:

"Christmas is a lovely time of the year to be involved in education with all the pantomimes, prize-giving and nativity plays going on in our 40 schools before audiences of proud parents.

"The tough financial times we find ourselves in and the difficult decisions being faced in some areas have somewhat dominated the news this year but this Christmas time I would like to concentrate on the positives and pay tribute to the wonderful, creative, imaginative work being done in our schools and thank all those delivering education to our 12,200 pupils.

"Education is something the Isle of Man can be proud of and this is down to the passion and commitment of those delivering it.

"I hope our staff and pupils and their parents have a safe, peaceful and fun-filled Christmas and we look ahead to even more successes and achievements in 2012."
