November 2011:Channel 4 highlights the Isle of Man’s space industry

THE Isle of Man's space industry received high profile coverage from Channel 4 in November.


Channel 4 News highlighted the growth of the Island's space sector on November 1. 


Morland Saunders, the North of England correspondent for Channel 4, visited the Island to speak to those involved in the space industry.


The feature, which lasted more than four and a half minutes, included interviews with space companies operating in the Island including Adrian Jowett from CVI Melles Griot and Ian Jarritt from ManSat.


Tim Craine, the director of the business development agency for the Department of Economic Development, was also interviewed.


He told the Channel 4 reporter that he sees "a very bright future for the Island's space industry" and said it the aim was for the Isle of Man "to be recognised as one of the best places in the world to operate a space business from".

 

The report also featured the two space stations that were brought to the Isle of Man by Excalibur Almaz in January this year.
