November 2011: Come Dine With Me in the Isle of Man

by isleofman.com 4th January 2012

THE Isle of Man edition of the popular cookery show Come Dine With Me aired in November.

Four local people went head to head to compete for the title of the ultimate dinner party host in order to win a £1,000 cash prize.

Local residents were asked to apply for the television show in May.

More than 250 people applied but the final four people selected to take part were "opinionated" property developer John Tinsley, "posh pensioner" Madeline Simpson, "down to earth" travel agent Mandy Quayle and Irish gardener Sean O'Connell.

The episode synopsis for the Manx edition of Come Dine With Me said: "On the Isle of Man four hosts go head to head in a week featuring some flirting, some bitching, some insults, a Manx crab starter and one host dressing up as a cow to serve pudding."

Contestant Mandy Quayle spoke to isleofman.com about her experience of the show. Read the interview here.

The top prize was won by Sean O'Connell who impressed his guests with Manx crab and beef.

The Isle of Man episode of Come Dine with Me was screened on Channel 4 on November 4.
