by isleofman.com 19th December 2011

THE Ben-my-Chree is due to leave dry dock this afternoon (Monday) as the repaired bow thrust unit has been refitted.

She will sail to Heysham and operate a freight-only Heysham to Isle of Man sailing at 2.15am (tomorrow) and resume her normal passenger services with the 8.45am sailing from the Isle of Man to Heysham tomorrow.

The Steam Packet Company announced on Thursday that the Ben-my-Chree's entry into dry dock was delayed by 12 hours, following discussions with freight customers, to allow for freight to be shipped in advance of the weekend.

The company said Manannan covered passenger and freight requirements all weekend and the company cleared more than 250 freight units prior to the weekend.
