by isleofman.com 17th December 2011

A DRIVER who knocked down 25 metres of fencing on a section of the Mountain Road this morning is being sought by police.

In a statement issued this evening (Saturday) Ramsey police station said that a silver coloured vehicle had left the scene of the incident on the Mountain Mile without reporting the matter.

Police say the incident happened between 10.30am and 12.25pm on Saturday 17th December 2011, a vehicle has knocked down approximately 25 metres of fencing on the section of the Mountain Road known as the Mountain Mile.

Road conditions were not good at the time with some patches of ice and slush from the previous night’s wintry conditions. There were approximately 500 sheep in a nearby field which fortunately did not get on to the main road.

It is believed there were a number of motorists using the road at the time who may have seen the vehicle responsible.

Anyone with any information in respect of this matter is asked to contact Ramsey Police Station or any police officer.
