ZOE Gillings has started the snowboarding world cup with a 10th overall placing at Telluride, Colorado in the USA this morning.
Britain’s number one boarder tweeted after the event, "Just got back to the hotel, finished 10th overall, Can't complain, is a good start to the season. Now ranked world no 10."
The 26-year-old Isle of Man born resident was 7th at the world championships in Spain last winter and had one podium finish in Switzerland, but is hoping for improvement this season. Last season she finished strongly after coming back from serious injury.
The American snowboarder, Lindsey Jacobellis, took gold at the competition in Telluride.
Zoe is Britain's number one snowboarder and finished well at the end of last season after coming back from injury. She runs the isleofdeals website in the Isle of Man to help raise funds to support her snowboarding career.
This season six people race against each other in the snowboard cross rather than four, making for much more spectacular racing and TV coverage.
