Horologist's cars go under the hammer

by isleofman.com 17th December 2011

Cars belonging to Manx-based watchmaker George Daniels are to be sold at auction.

Mr Daniels, who died earlier this year, maintained a collection of vintage sports cars, ranging from a 1932 Alfa Romeo to his favourite, a 1907 Daimler.

The vehicles have a pre-auction estimate of ?8 million, and will be sold at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, next June.

In total, seven cars and two motorbikes will go under the hammer when auctioneers Bonhams hold the sale in Chichester.
