by isleofman.com 16th December 2011

MORE than 600 homes in Ramsey lost their electricity supply this morning after a power failure.

The Manx Electricity Authority said it was due to the failure of a high voltage component in the area.

Around 650 homes in central Ramsey and Glen Auldyn were affected at around 9.25am.

A spokesperson for the Manx Electricity Authority said: "Following the deployment of all available resources power was restored to all properties by 11am."

Chairman of the authority Eddie Lowey MLC thanked residents for their patience.
