Boundary debates 'misses the point'

by isleofman.com 15th December 2011

Rushen MHK Juan Watterson says arguing about how many Keys members each area needs is missing the point.

The debate arose this week as Tynwald discussed a report on reviewing constituency boundaries to make the Island’s political system fairer.

But Mr Watterson says it shouldn’t matter that some places have one MHK while others have three, as long as they represent the same number of people.

And he says he thinks the discussion itself is pointless.
