Douglas man died from hanging

An inquest into the death of a Douglas man has heard he died from hanging at his home in Pulrose.

Martin Teare Cherry, 41, was discovered by a caller in the hallway of his house in Sycamore Grove on December 4.

The inquest, which opened this morning (Thursday) at Douglas Courthouse, heard Mr Cherry was already dead when she arrived.

Mr Cherry had worked for the Department of Social Care.

The case was adjourned for further inquiries and Coroner of Inquests John Needham offered his condolences to Mr Cherry's family.
