"Un-festive act" say police as Christmas tree is stolen from roundabout

POLICE are investigating after someone stole a Christmas tree from a roundabout in Douglas.

 

The 12 foot fir tree was taken from the "Fort North" roundabout, on the New Castletown Road in Douglas, overnight on Monday, December 12.

 

PC Alan Shimmin who is investigating this incident said: "A 12 foot fir tree which was stood on the roundabout was sawn down and removed.

 

"It is clear someone has stolen it to use as a Christmas tree.

 

"I would like to appeal to anyone who may have seen someone committing this un-festive act or believes they know the whereabouts of the tree to contact me."

 

The fir tree was planted in the mid 1990s by Douglas Corporation.
