'Protect Manx businesses', says MHK

by isleofman.com 9th December 2011

One of the newly elected members of the House of Keys is calling for more 'localism policy'.

In Tynwald next week, Castletown MHK Richard Ronan will ask the minister for economic development what he intends to do to protect local jobs and get more money into the Island's economy.

In the question, Mr Ronan says Germany and other European states have enacted such policies during the last twelve months.

He will also ask John Shimmin about the steps he is taking to protect the interests of 'indigenous Manx Businesses' in the face of an 'influx' of large United Kingdom retailers.
