POLICE are continuing to appeal for the public's help following a serious road traffic collision in Douglas.
On Tuesday, November 8, a female pedestrian was hit by a blue Renault Clio on the Access Road near to The Bowl.
Christina Collister, 37, was walking with her son within the cycle lane towards the Ellan Vannin Gymnastics Club when she was hit by the car at approximately 6.20pm.
The car was travelling towards Pulrose Bridge but struck Mrs Collister causing her to be knocked over a small embankment into the river.
She suffered serious leg injuries and was admitted to hospital. Mrs Collister was later released but sadly died on Friday, November 25.
Police have said that it is too early to attribute the collision to the cause of death but have issued another appeal for witnesses.
Inspector Terry Stephen of the Roads Policing Unit has thanked members of the public for coming forward already with information but said he still wants to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or who saw the car being driven beforehand.
In particular police would like to speak to the occupants of a red coloured car which stopped at the collision scene and a man, described as a groundsman, who may have seen the Clio being driven but has not yet been identified.
Anyone who can help with police enquiries is requested to contact Police Headquarters on 01624 631212 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
