Man sent texts before taking his own life

by isleofman.com 7th December 2011

A suicide verdict has been recorded on an Onchan man who was found dead at Scarlett Point, south of Castletown.

The body of 32-year-old Andrew Cross was discovered during the morning of June 26.

A resumed inquest heard a number of texts and emails were sent from his iPhone the night before, in which he said he planned to take his own life.

Coroner of inquests John Needham heard Mr Cross had recently been spoken to by police about an unspecified matter, which may have been playing on his mind.

However, it was stressed it was no longer being pursued.
