MHK remembers Freeman of Douglas

A senior politician is paying tribute to the man he calls 'Gentleman George'.

Former Mayor George Chatel, who passed away on Monday at the age of 76, made a significant contribution to life in the Isle of Man.

South Douglas MHK David Cretney says he will be fondly remembered for his distinguished service (listen to audio file below):

George Chatel was a Douglas councillor for 25 years and was made a Freeman of the Borough in 2007.
