Manx Telecom appoints retail manager

by isleofman.com 7th December 2011

MANX Telecom has appointed Paul Keen as its new retail manager.

Paul, who grew up in the Isle of Man, graduated from Sheffield Hallam University in 1999 with a degree in business studies.

He joined Marconi Communications in Coventry and then returned to the Isle of Man in 2002 to work as an investment manager.

Through one of these investments he became a director of Simonstone Motor Group plc and in 2003 he became managing director.

This role involved managing two franchised motor dealerships in the south west of England and he held this role until joining Manx Telecom.

Paul's main focus was on the sales teams and the two dealerships were among the top performers in the group.

He said: "I was keen to return to both the Island and also the telecommunications industry so I am delighted to have been appointed to the role of retail manager for Manx Telecom at such an exciting time in the development of the brand.

"My role will encompass trying to ensure that the new store is a great retail experience for all our customers both old and new and maximising the benefits of consolidating our two previous stores into one purposely designed retail concept.

"I am looking forward to working with the great team already in place in the retail store to improve further the massive strides that have been made since it opened."

Manx Telecom marketing director David Smith said: "Our new store in Strand Street opened on October 12 and everyone at Manx Telecom is delighted with how popular it has become in such a short time.

"From day one it has been extremely busy and I look forward to seeing Paul and his team build on the store's success so far."
