Further remand in Castletown GBH case

A man accused of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent has been remanded in custody for two more weeks, after an application for bail was turned down by the deputy high bailiff, Jayne Hughes.

Matthew Smith-Williams, 30, is accused of committing the offence in Malew Street, Castletown, where he lives, on October 5.

Prosecutor Barry Swain told the court a full medical report on his alleged victim, Robert Lee Quinney, was awaited from Walton Hospital in Liverpool.

Mr Quinney is currently in Noble's Hospital.

Mr Smith-Williams is next due in court on December 20.
