'Light up' those Port Erin trees!

by isleofman.com 6th December 2011

Traders in Port Erin are hoping trees will tempt shoppers to the village.

The 'Christmas Tree Festival' is due to begin later this week.

More than 20 shops will be open for late-night shopping, Father Christmas will hand out presents and there will be carols and music from Rushen Silver Band.

As well as a large tree at the railway station, there will be trees in the windows of many shops and businesses, and people will be invited to take part in a Christmas Tree Trail around the town.

The trees will 'light up' from 7pm on Thursday, and organisers say the event will go ahead whatever the weather.
