The agriculture minister has warned the House of Keys the 'clock is ticking' on the Fatstock Marketing Association and the Isle of Man's meat plant.
As new directors continue to examine its financial state, and what can be done to revamp it, Phil Gawne again stressed how important it was for the Island to have such a facility.
He said the need for a meat plant was underlined by the way recent stormy weather had stripped store shelves of imported foods.
