Award for 'Manx' animated film

A part 'Manx made' film has won a top award from the European Film Acadamy.

'Chico and Rita', by Fernando Trueba, Javier Mariscal and Tono Errando, used animators in the Isle of Man.

The movie, which was up against 'Une Vie de Chat' and 'Le Chat du Rabbin', won the award for best animated film.

'Chico and Rita' is a love story about a gifted songwriter and a beautiful singer, set in the late 1940s and early 1950s, in Havana, New York, Las Vegas, Hollywood and Paris.   

The awards were presented in Berlin.
