by isleofman.com 5th December 2011

POLICE are appealing for information after a small dog was attacked by a Rottweiler in Anagh Coar last night (Sunday).

It happened at around 9.45pm at the end of Urley Path near to Anagh Coar School.

A female member of the public was walking her dog when it was attacked by the Rottweiler which was roaming the streets without its owner.

A police spokesperson said: "Fortunately the dog only suffered minor injuries but it could have been so much worse particularly if it had been a small child attacked by the dog."

Police would like to hear from any Rottweiler owners who live in the area and anyone who witnessed the attack.

Anyone who can help is asked to contact PC Andrew McKillop on 01624 631212. Police say all information will be treated in the strictest confidence.
