Remembering the loss of the Ellan Vannin

On the 102nd anniversary of the Ellan Vannin tragedy, people are coming together today (Saturday), to remember those who lost their lives.

There is a memorial services on the quayside at Ramsey this afternoon, followed by an invitation to the Church of Our Lady, Star of the Sea and St Maughold.

Ramsey MHK Leonard Singer says the loss of the Steam Packet vessel is an integral part of the Isle of Man's past (listen to audio file below):

The service on the quayside at Ramsey starts at 2pm.
