STANDARD Bank has appointed Seán Flanagan as head of compliance in the Isle of Man.
He will develop the compliance capabilities of the bank's offshore division and ensure delivery of effective compliance function in the Island, Jersey and Mauritius.
Seán joins Standard Bank from the Isle of Man Financial Supervision Commission (FSC) where he was responsible for the funds and investment business team.
He has 20 years of compliance experience within a range of sectors including banking, asset management, funds and investment business and will be based in Jersey.
John Coyle, chief executive at Standard Bank Isle of Man, said: "This is an important role within our offshore division and Seán’s considerable compliance and banking experience in a range of offshore jurisdictions will be invaluable going forward. We welcome Seán to Standard Bank."
Seán also has experience working for the Dubai Financial Services Authority where he focused on the supervision of asset managers, investment banks and funds.
He holds a Master of Business Administration Degree, is a Fellow of the Securities and Investment Institute and a member of the Institute of Financial Services.
