CADET warrant officer Sarah Wade has been invested as the Lieutenant Governor's Cadet.
The certified accounting technician trainee, who works for Crowe Morgan, was invested at a ceremony held at Government House.
Sarah, 19, joined the Air Cadets 440 (1st Manx) Squadron in June 2005 and during her time with the cadets has risen to the highest possible rank.
She has also achieved her Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Award, is first aid trained and has obtained two BTECs – one in aviation studies and the other in public services.
Sarah said: "I really enjoy being an air cadet as it has provided me with many opportunities over the past six years to broaden my horizons.
"I have been on many expeditions and training trips and in December I will be attending a gliding course for which I obtained a scholarship and January will see me skiing."
As the Lieutenant Governor's Cadet Sarah will be in attendance at many formal receptions and events including Tynwald Day.
She continued: "It is an honour to have been chosen to represent all of the armed forces cadets on the Island and I am looking forward to attending the many functions over the next year."
Cadetship usually ends when a cadet reaches the age of 20 but as Sarah has been invested until July 2012 the Royal Air Force has agreed to extend Sarah's leave until then.
Amy Slee, a partner at Crowe Morgan said: "We are very pleased for Sarah and all of her achievements as a cadet and I was delighted to be asked to support her at the investiture ceremony. Sarah has worked extremely hard and applies this mindset as a trainee accountant at our firm."
