Manannan intervenes as train journey ends!

by isleofman.com 1st December 2011

Former United Kingdom cabinet minister Michael Portillo has given away the ending of his Great Train Journey, and has admitted there won't be much for viewers to see!

The broadcaster and journalist was on the Island earlier this year filming for the series, and although the first day went well in good conditions, that wasn't the case on day two.

He says he wanted to end on a high note at the summit of Snaefell, but things didn't work out as planned (listen to audio file below):

Michael Portillo was back on the Island for a lecture at the Gaiety Theatre yesterday (Wednesday) evening.

The full interview with Geraldine Jameson, from which this extract was taken, will be broadcast on Manx Radio early next year.
