Bristling with pride - staff raise ?1,400 by growing moustaches

by isleofman.com 1st December 2011

STAFF from the Douglas based pharmaceutical company Panacea Pharma Projects have raised more than £1,400 by growing moustaches.

They took part in the Movember campaign which encourages men to let their facial hair grow throughout the month of November.

The campaign is run around the world and is a way of raising awareness of prostate and testicular cancer – the two most common types of male specific cancer.

The money raised by the staff in Douglas, which is still coming in, will go towards the Prostate Cancer Charity and the Institute of Cancer Research.

Matthew McSevney, managing director of Panacea Pharma Projects, said: "We had around 20 people taking part in Movember this year and, as always, it was a fun way to raise funds for a very good cause.

"We hosted a Movember party at the Liverpool Arms which included friends and family of Panacea staff as well as Mo Bros and Mo Sistas from the Department of the Environment, Food and Agriculture, The Children’s Centre, and KPMG."
