Isle of Man Monopoly is hot property

by isleofman.com 30th November 2011

MONOPOLY Isle of Man has been such a hit with gaming fans that it is being reprinted for the second time.

The popular board game was launched in October and sees Manx landmarks immortalised on the game board.

It was created by Winning Moves UK under licence from brand owners Hasbro.

David Sommer, the sales director of Winning Moves UK, said: "We are on our second print run and even looking at a third one too.

"This Monopoly game has really caught the public's imagination and retailers are telling us it is 'flying' off shop shelves.

"As well as sales on the Island internet demand has been phenomenal with games whizzing off the Island across the globe to ex-pats for Christmas presents."

In May of this year members of the public were tasked with suggesting which Island landmarks they wanted to see make it onto the board.

The TT Grandstand took the most prestigious spot of Mayfair and a number of Manx National Heritage attractions and the Isle of Man Railways also made it onto the board.

The Community Chest and Chance cards have also been customised to reflect Manx traditions.
