Make a wish and raise money for The Children's Centre

by isleofman.com 28th November 2011

THE Children's Centre is urging children to make a Christmas wish and help raise money to fund outdoor activities.

The charity has created a "Wish Wall" at the Strand Shopping Centre which is made up of boxes created by local school children.

Michelle O'Malley, fundraising manager at The Children's Centre, explained: "We're giving out Wish Wall kits which can then be made up into boxes with Christmas wishes to Santa written on them.

"But we are also encouraging children to think of others when they write their Christmas wishes.

"Once they have made their Wish Wall box we ask the children to do good deeds for their families and show Santa that they are good boys and girls and deserve lots of lovely presents. Then if their parents and relatives want to thank them for their good deeds we're asking them to put a donation in the Wish Wall box.

"When children are shopping with their parents and grandparents they can have fun trying to pick out which box they made.

"All of the proceeds will help us to fund our Out2Play events which this year were attended by more than 4,000 children."

Anyone who wants to make a Wish Wall box can collect a kit from The Children’s centre on Woodbourne Road in Douglas. For more information contact Michelle on 01624 631919 or e-mail fundraising@thechildrenscentre.org.im.
