by isleofman.com 28th November 2011

THE head of the Isle of Man branch of UNICEF has travelled to Africa on a fact finding mission.

Voirrey Collister, 30, is the chairperson of UNICEF on Mann, and is visiting the Republic of Benin in West Africa.

During her trip she will visit a range of projects organised and run by UNICEF to talk through the issues faced by children in Benin.

She will also have the chance to liaise with other UNICEF representatives on ideas for local fundraising.

Voirrey, who is a manager at Gough Fiduciary LLC, said: "I am very excited to be visiting Benin – It will be fantastic to see how UNICEF is using the funds raised by groups such as ourselves here on the Isle of Man.

"I am sure it will be a huge inspiration to see first hand just how much has been done as well as what there is still left to do."

Voirrey has thanked all the people who have sponsored her trip including Gough Fiduciary LLC who have paid for her return flights to Gatwick.

She said: "I am very grateful to Gough Fiduciary and to all my other sponsors for making this trip possible. I look forward to reporting back on my visit."
