British-Irish Council summit postponed following death

THE British-Irish Council summit - due to take place on Monday - has been postponed as a mark of respect following the death of Eithne Kenny, mother of the Irish Taoiseach Enda Kenny.

 

Both Chief Minister Allan Bell MHK and Home Affairs Minister Juan Watterson MHK had been due to attend the summit in Dublin, Ireland.

 

Mr Bell has written to extend his condolences to the Taoiseach.

 

The British-Irish Council summit will be rescheduled for a later date.
