Title race goes to last game

by isleofman.com 26th November 2011

Valkyrs A have ensured the race for the Wi-Manx Mixed Premier Division title will go to the wire.

Goals from Andrea Kneen (two), Olly Webster and Greg Miller fired them to a 4-1 victory over Celts, for whom Hannah Leece scored, in their penultimate league fixture.

That moved them to the summit above reigning champions Bacchas A, who weren’t in action.

At the other end of the table, Saracens Sabres are all but relegated after losing 3-1 to Valkyrs B.

Dave Hall, Stephen Moore and Vic Fearns scored to ensure the prolific Steve Cottier’s goal was only a consolation.

Bacchas B defeated Ramsey A 7-2, for whom Ben Curtis notched both.
