Workshop for charity volunteers

How to help charities thrive is the theme of a day-long training event at St John's today (Saturday).

Charity staff and volunteers have been invited to take part in a variety of workshops at a fair organised by the Council of Voluntary Organisations.

Advice on offer will range from promoting charities or groups in the media to maximising fund-raising efforts and volunteer recruitment.

The event is at St John's Mill and there is a choice of five sessions this morning and afternoon.
