The new playground at Ramsey Commissioners' redeveloped Lezayre housing estate has been officially opened.
The ribbon was cut by the local authority's lead member for housing and property Mary Bruce, after which the facilities were 'test driven' by pupils of Audlyn School.
The playground has been named after the late Beryl Quine, former head teacher of Albert Road School and a long-serving Ramsey Commissioner, who was the driving force behind the original play area located on the site of the old Lezayre estate.
Mrs Bruce paid tribute to all the people who had contributed to the successful completion of the Lezayre redevelopment, a five-stage project finished on time and on budget at a cost of ?25.3 million.
It was built in partnership with the Department of Social Care and consists of 149 new public sector properties, ranging in size from two to four bedrooms.
